The individual in this position is knowledgeable in all aspects of integration, design and building of systems infrastructure and application systems and is comfortable in developing requirements and design specifications for new systems. This individual is capable of evaluating the technology industry and its direction and relate to future architecture needs and projects. The Systems / Solution Architect must maintain an awareness of business, technical and infrastructure issues and act as a consultant to aid in the development of creative solutions. The Systems / Solutions Architect also serve as a team leader in the overall design, and integration of infrastructure components and application systems, with a focus on deployment, systems migration and consolidation.<br><b>Duties and Responsibilities:</b><br>* Provide for the definition of application systems, core IT infrastructure and enterprise technical architectures <br>* Gather information about program needs, objectives, functions and input/output requirements to design application systems and facilities to perform well logically and physically <br>* Develop integrated solution designs in support of deployment IT infrastructure and business systems with a focus in new data center deployment, migration and consolidation <br>* Provide for the definition of technical architectural standards and procedures <br>* Research and evaluate software and hardware to be used as system components and application platforms <br>* Coordinate enhancements and maintenance of technical architecture components and application systems components when necessary <br>* Perform situation analysis and make technology recommendations <br>* Consult with clients to define/refine applications and system components to meet their business needs<br>* Responsible for defining solution architecture options and leading the project team through the process of evaluating the most appropriate design. <br>* Analyze the current business and IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement <br>* Maintain a set of architecture principles that provides directional guidance on appropriate business and technology solutions <br>* Maintain a set of architecture artifacts that clearly communicate the business and technology roadmaps as well as current and to-be views of the IT estate <br>* Participate in technology architecture and design decision making for solutions delivered by the IT department <br>* Help maintain and continuously improve software developments standards, development practices and quality assurance processes that are appropriate to business needs <br>* Set standards for design artifacts that are appropriate to the needs for project delivery and ongoing operation of the IT estate</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="label" valign="top">Job Qualifications</td> <td class="text" width="80%" align="left"><b>Skills & Experience:</b><br>* Excellent knowledge of market trends and new developments within IT <br>* Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation <br>* Excellent written and verbal communication skills <br>* Excellent analytical, planning and organization skills <br>* Deep experience in the development of solutions using Microsoft technologies <br>* Knowledge of business re-engineering principles and processes <br>Strong business knowledge energy / commodities trading environment <br>* Wide ranging knowledge and experience in technology solutions covering application development, network design, middleware, servers and storage, database management and operations <br>* Knowledge and experience of using architecture frameworks.
